Review on πŸ’§ Igloo Heavy-Duty Seat Top Water Dispenser: Convenient and Durable Hydration Solution by James Pope

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The modified drink dispenser gave me a spice!

Lacking money for the right equipment, several homebrewing websites/forums had instructions on how to convert this type of dispenser into a steeping and pureeing vessel. Spice. For those who have not yet ventured into brewing beer, all this means is that I replaced the faucet with a better one that was attached to a strainer that I inserted into the needle. A mixture of ground grains was thrown in and then filled with 165 degree Fahrenheit water. It stood for an hour and the resulting liquid (wort) was drained into another container to make more things and finally made into beer. Did she take the heat? Near enough. I believe more hot water should have been added to get the temperature back up, but it didn't lose more than 20 degrees in an hour. More important than the numbers, it was an acceptable condiment for brewing beer. I still have it and I haven't brewed beer in a long time. I'm sure this will still work, but it's a process. Maybe I saved money by not buying a bunch of beer making equipment I wouldn't use anymore, or maybe the process of not having the right equipment prevented me from continuing. In any case, it is possible, the end result was a wonderful success and unfortunately that goes by faster than it is created.

Pros
  • Tight-fitting lid doesn't trap dirt or mold
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
