Location Matters: Heating, Cooling, and Air Quality

Bought this for my bedroom a few weeks ago. The air was very dusty since the mass cleaning kicked up dust from all those hard-to-reach books and nooks and crannies. When reading the installation guide. I saw that he didn't get closer than 15 inches to the obstacle on either side. I decided to put it next to the laundry basket and the bedroom door. A day later I noticed that my room smelled much better (apparently I was blind to the smell of laundry) but the air quality didn't improve at all. In fact, the dust seemed to be flying around more than ever. Over the next few weeks, I noticed that when I brought a cup of water into my room, after a few hours, small floating dust particles appeared on the top of the cup. tall piece of furniture. Yesterday I decided to try it - maybe it will help. Immediately noticed that things are much worse. I was barely breathing, coughing and choking on the dust that flew through the air. So I sat there and thought - why is this happening? If the filter removes the smell, why does it make the dust worse? Then it clicked, dust swirling through the air to the filter and flying everywhere before the filter could clean it. supply air duct. Of course, after I removed the vent, I saw a pile of dust or dirt and grime at the bottom of the vent. I cleaned the vent as best I could and put the filter next to the vent. I woke up this morning and there were no airborne dust particles in my water cup and I was able to breathe easier. My next step if I'm still having problems is to have the air ducts in the house professionally cleaned.
