I hate giving it only 3 stars as I'm sure it has worked for many cats. In theory, this is a really great product. I give it three stars mainly for how ineffective it is for my specific needs. My kitty finally learned to jump on the kitchen table. I don't care where they're allowed to go, but the kitchen counter is the only place they're strictly forbidden. My older boy never bothered to jump in so this is my first time dealing with a cat that has access to an area they are not allowed to enter. I bought large sticky pads (9x12) and cut them in half and placed them along the edges of the kitchen countertop. My kitty ended up jumping in there. But instead of feeling sticky and jumping off immediately, she kept trying to walk on the sticky spots until she got to a non-sticky area. She obviously didn't like being sticky, but for some reason she didn't feel the need to jump off. She doesn't mind putting up with the sticker if it means access to the counter. So actually it didn't work for me. I ended up removing the sticky pads and unfortunately there was leftovers on the kitchen counter that I had to use to remove oil and hard sponges. There are probably a few more I can't get up yet. That takes off another star for me. I would like to point out that I saw one reviewer claiming the pads are actually white which is not true unless they bought a different product than what I received. Of course there are two sides to protect the adhesive to be removed: the brown side and the white side. Any person of average intelligence should know that to get double sided tape you need to remove both sides. . .If anyone is wondering how we are going to stop their no velcro behavior: 1. While I am cooking their food my husband uses the toy to distract them until their food is ready. Every treat I give her in the kitchen is placed on the floor so she knows she's not expecting it from jumping (and she's jumping for treats).3. I plan to put some wall shelves or a small scratching post next to the kitchen where she can watch me cook if she wants. If she decides to climb onto the counter, I'll escort her to her "safe place" and use the clicker and treat to let her know she needs to be there. [this. for each "no" you say to a cat, alternatively type "yes".]
