Haven't read for a long time and came with a dead battery.

After reading all the rave reviews I had no doubts about buying this thermometer. Unfortunately I didn't have the same experience. We tried to use it and it took a very long time to read (tested orally myself), it ended up reading 97 degrees. I tried again and it said 'low'. I'm assuming the battery is dead, but that was the very first time it was used. Still can't read.
