It couldn't be simpler. It was well packaged, lots of bubble wrap to keep the metal parts from rubbing against each other during transport. The instructions were just stuffed in the box, so my sheet looks crumpled. However, you don't need them. You assemble the top with the screws provided and then insert the base's pins into the top and secure the base to the wall. I really wish the two pieces had a closer fit to each other. I could have assembled it and fitted it as a whole but they decided against it so it gets 3 stars for durability. The distance from the bottom of each shelf to the bottom of the next is about 5 inches. However, I noticed that one section was just under 5 inches. If you use this on nail polish I doubt you'll ever notice. The shelves themselves measure 2 1/4 inches by 11 inches. The overall frame width of this shelf is closer to 11 3/4 inches, so keep that in mind when placing it. Overall, this is a relatively lightweight metal shelf that should serve its purpose well.
