Review on LandingZone Docking Station: Enhanced πŸ”Œ Connectivity for 15-inch MacBook Pro (2016-2019) by Michael Montgomery

Works with quirks: Notebook accessories

I used this docking station every day at work for six months. This docking station can support up to three external monitors without daisy chaining and even leave the USB-C port open for an additional monitor if you wish (Apple supports 4 monitors). This works great for my setup. DISPLAYS: I have two LG 27UD88 monitors (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CDYB0QS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_CSnXBb0E9FSZ9) - one plugs into the right side of the USB-C pass-through. The other connects to the display port on the left. Note that using a display port disables the HDMI port next to it (and vice versa). I also have a 43 inch LG UJ6300 TV connected to the bottom HDMI port. All three devices work great when I put my laptop in the dock. USB: I had no problems with peripherals connected via standard USB ports. There are small devices (printers, Wacom, label printers, etc.) all plugged into a powered hub that connects to the docking station. - AUDIO OUT: works fine, but is not a passthrough. Requires a driver that will be installed automatically.- ETHERNET: Works great. Again, no pass-through. Requires a driver, which installs automatically.- SD slots: Had no problem loading images from SD cards. Looks good. Line up the dock with the laptop ports, but after a couple of weeks I had no problems. Not sure if I'm just feeling it better or if the dock is getting a little looser over time. After connecting the docking station, it is solid. Some people have had issues, but I think it's worth grappling with. When I bought it in April 2018 there was no other dock that had everything this dock has. The ability to connect three external monitors, as well as Ethernet, audio and SD card slots, simply nobody offers. It's complex technology and they're pushing the envelope, so I have no problem giving them some leeway if there are any quirks.
