Great (but weird) toaster. You can slide them in, but they press a little on the sides of the toaster2) Extraneous room lighting during cooking. The lights will flash and turn off while the food is cooking. Something odd and noticeable when reheating pizza rolls while watching a movie. 3) The plates get VERY hot! Other toasters that you put the cockatiel in and heat aren't as aggressive when it comes to heating the plate itself. Basically it is not possible to serve/eat from a plate that has been used for reheating/cooking, so plan on moving/contaminating two plates. 4) Time setting issues => better now. Other reviews speak of the inability to adjust the time after the start of cooking. What really happens is that when you click the Toast => Medium button (for example) you block the ability to increase/decrease minutes. If instead you use: 400 degrees, 5 minutes, then you can scroll the minutes up/down as your heart desires. Think of it like a "toast machineβ or an "ovenβ. and in "toast machine mode" you can't mess with time, just shadow/darkness settings. In oven mode you have full time/temperature control at all times. Turns out it didn't really bother me, but it's a little weird. 5) Cooking/Reheating Speed. OMG the best! Open the door, press 300 degrees, +1 minute, hand in, and *BAM* immediately gets very hot. This thing is great for "cooking combinations" 1-2 minutes in the microwave, 2-3 minutes in the toaster and almost everything turns out great! Because oven preheat is virtually zero, a regular toaster can take 2-3 minutes to warm up to temperature, while this one gives you 2-3 minutes of cooking time at full temperature instantly. I'm a big fan of toaster vs. toaster. In 1-2 months I've cooked 5-10 dishes that I wouldn't normally eat (3 servings frozen mini burritos, 2 servings mozzarella cheese sticks, 2 servings pizza rolls, 2 totinos). pizzas, 1 frozen chicken pie). I will not microwave pizza rolls or cheese sticks (soaked, uneven) and I will not preheat a full 5-10 foot oven to bake 5-10 cheesecakes in 10-15 minutes. With this thing, you put 5-10 cheese sticks on a plate, set them for 10 minutes, flip them once and you're done. Oh so much more comfortable. Dangerously comfortable 7) Shape. This is the Borg Cube of toasters. It's not in the shape of a bread box. It's a little funky. Knit him a sweater and cover him up when not in use. It's not too bad, but it can be at odds with a sleek, modern design. 8) External heat. Other reviews spoke of issues with extreme heat. Most toasters have a problem with being convenient to place items on, but for cook times under 10 minutes, I didn't notice much heat with the 6-inch spacing around the unit.
