Great puzzles for a 1 year old!

I was a little skeptical about how well my niece of 1 year old would be able to put these puzzles together but as the recommended age is 12 months to 4 years I bought them. her birthday at the end of July. Her parents told me that she enjoyed playing with Melissa and Doug at a friend's house in June for his first birthday. I'm glad I bought them! She still needs a little help assembling it, but for the most part she can put them back together (spreading them all over the floor is no problem for her!). I will say that she seems to have an easier time putting the character puzzle together than the farm puzzle. The beauty of these puzzles is that there is a picture of the puzzle piece underneath where it belongs and also a picture (e.g. a picture of a farmer) on the puzzle piece itself. The wooden handles on the puzzle pieces are great and easy for little hands to grab! The only thing I don't like about these puzzles is that the designs on the puzzle pieces are just stickers stuck on top of them (although the stickers cover the whole piece so I'm not worried that she'll pick and peel them off ), and, since at that moment everything she sees goes in her mouth, the stickers get a little "wet" and begin to peel off. a little. As long as you play with them, or at least watch them put the puzzle together and you can tell them not to put the pieces in their mouths, you'll be fine!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Durability
