These shells are very light yet strong. So you get the idea that they're lighter than plastic bowls, but just as strong. After buying it, I realized that I always use it when cooking. The bowl sizes are good, from really big (I use them when my kids help bake so I know the food stays in the bowl) to small ones that are nice for cooking. I wash right after I'm done so it's easy to clean. The only downside to these bowls is that they cannot be washed in the microwave or dishwasher.
