I bought this mainly to remove lug nuts and to be honest it's too much but I'd rather have more power than I can on a specific one need day. I flipped the tires and the nuts came off like butter, I tried second gear and it has enough power to get the job done. For tightening I recommend 1st gear, of course you should always start by hand and tighten with a torque wrench according to the instructions in the manual. 1st speed will save you from over-tearing (it just seems like it has that much power). Very inexpensive in comparison with other analogues.
