I have had to replace the bulb in the ceiling light in our dining room for the first time since moving into our home 3.5 years ago. The boy was surprised to find that the bulb used in this fixture was not a regular incandescent or CFL bulb, but a halogen bulb. This was my first experience of getting a replacement for this type of bulb and replacing it myself. I ended up measuring the length of the original lamp and looking at Revain for a suitable replacement. Stopped at this product and made a replacement. I am very happy with the results. About 2 months have passed since the replacement and the lamp is still working properly. If you are trying to measure the "brightness" of this bulb, I would say that this 300w halogen bulb is the closest match to a 100-125w incandescent bulb. My light is dimmable and I like the ability to adjust the brightness up and down. Also, my wife and I love puzzles, and the "whiteness" of this type of bulb helps the colors match truthfully and easily.
