Updated 10/07/2019, I wanted to update my review because the seller was a great help. Without asking me, they sent me a new replacement product - it says "Great Customer Service". I've replaced an apparently faulty one with the new ones that were sent to me and this adapter seems to be working fine so far. I haven't had any fallout since the exchange and hope this trend continues. I'll update this again in a few weeks to see if it still works properly. My laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port, so I have to use the USB-C port to connect to my router (I don't use WiFi). Since I lost my previous adapter when I moved, I finally decided on this product. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks, but then service outages started. I've checked all my other devices, some are "hardwired" to the router and some are connected to Wi-Fi, and they haven't had any dropouts. I was able to fix this device. Unless it sits in a USB-C port in a special way, the internet will be disabled. My tip: try another manufacturer. Luckily I was able to find my original adapter and will change it.
