I have started using Himalayan salt lamps instead of regular lamps throughout my apartment in the evenings since trying a few small ones and realizing that my allergies are increasing disappear seem better when they have been in use. This one is a bit darker than the other large one I have and is quite light. It also seems to get a bit warmer than my other one so bear that in mind when placing (though not hot). There was very little shavings or dust in the packaging, even when delivered in hot weather. It can be easily dimmed or brightened with a switch. They stick the lightbulb into themselves through the bottom for easy replacement if the lightbulb goes out.
