I have been a construction worker for 22 years and have worn a tool belt without braces and now have back problems. I've had braces for 2 months and you have to have the right settings for you to like them. The belt is more difficult to put on and take off, it takes time to get used to it. They relieve your waist but add it to your back. Adjusted correctly, they balance the weight. 4 stars for comfort. I advise you to find the exact location of the belt loops and attach them to your belt otherwise they will move with your pouches. Otherwise, you will find yourself having to constantly adjust your pouches. Occidental quality is the best I've found and I've been wearing my bags for 12 years and they just keep getting longer. I'm assuming suspenders do the same.
