Review on 🎙️ TASCAM DR-05 Portable Digital Recorder (Version 2): Unleashing Enhanced Recording Capabilities by Ryan Lindstrom

This is a great little recorder and I've been using it extensively over the last few months to do both ambient recording/sampling and a dedicated recorder for my ham radio station. Now the thing is that it is intended for recording my radio hobby because I prefer to keep it plugged in via the USB port that it offers. HOWEVER, and this is a BIG CAUTION - this recorder is very noisy and picks up a lot of junk when recording on USB power, including increased hiss and audible clicks/pops! in and battery operated via line-in. *All* other settings, levels are the same. Please see the audio comparison recordings accompanying this review - both identical 5 minute recordings recorded back to back from a 4kHz bandwidth AM radio, one USB powered, one battery powered and see , which is what I have in mind :) Apart from this bug, this is a great recorder and I plan to keep it updated so I can only record on battery in the future.
