Review on 📷 F-Stop Dalston 21L Aloe Green Roll Top Camera Backpack: Perfect for DSLR, Mirrorless, Urban, and Travel Photography by Natasha Williams

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This bag is a fake WANDRD PRVKE 21 but not that good.

The F-Stop mechanism makes for some great backpacks for photographers. From what I understand, they introduced the concept of a detachable ICU (Indoor Camera Unit) to the world, which itself has been widely copied. Full Disclosure: I have and love two different F-Stop packages and four different ICUs. In this case, however, it's F-Stop gear that took and basically copied the idea of the three Utah brothers who founded WANDRD to create this bag. Maybe that's true now that the WANDRD brothers have incorporated the ICU F-Stop concept into their own design. The problem is that F-Stops didn't do their own version well enough. It's not that Dalton is a complete failure; F-Stop missed many of the details that make the WANDRD PRVKE bag the best hybrid camera bag on the market. For example, the Dalton lacks the structure of the PRVE, making it less comfortable to wear. Using a straight zipper instead of a door makes gear access more awkward. It lacks PRVKE's ability to unzip the zippered back panel for easy access to everything in the bag. Dalton lacks PRVKE's ability to add a waist belt. And with the exception of the flat front pocket, it's missing the many secure pockets available in the PRKVE, including a side pocket that can be used for a tripod or water bottle, and a built-in rear passport/wallet pocket that's 100% secure pickpockets. when carrying a bag. The bottom line is, if you're looking at Dalton and love the concept of a multi-purpose camera/computer/person bag, take the time to look at PRVKE. Same concept but much better execution. It's available on Revain here: https://www.amazon.com/Travel-Camera-Backpack-Laptop-Photography/dp/B074VRC3Q3/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=prvke&qid=1551640897&s=gateway&sr=8-2 (And about it to be clear I have nothing to do with WANDRD other than carrying my PRVKE 21 with me every day on three continents for over two years.)

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
