Used for 2 days although the smell of cotton wick smelled like plastic I tried it. After 3 refills it broke and now won't turn on. Definitely cheaply made and the cat isn't glued, it detaches and moves. The light is quite bright, but in general it can be turned off. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend, but if you need a humidifier on a budget, this might be what you need.
