Good pliers, bad tips.

What happens when you design a tool and you're 95% right? You get these pliers. The grips are excellent, the stroke is smooth, the tips are where it rubs. In the case of round-nose pliers with outer rings, the tips are at an angle to one another. So when you expand the ring, the spikes act like ramps and the ring slides off.
