Epic launch error

My wife wanted a fitness tracker for Christmas and of course this looked like a great option. It was a simple group offering the data they wanted to track and they had a nice iPhone app. It LOOKS great and if it actually worked as advertised it would be an absolute HOUSE OF GOLD product. Instead, it looks more like a smoking heap of something coming out of the moose's south side. if you understood me The iPhone app was updated last week and the president of the company shared the hard work they put in fixing bugs and updating various apps, increasing server capacity, etc. It's all great except for one small detail . BANDS OFTEN RESET. According to the same post, less than 5% of their customers have this issue. If that's true, then I'm Pope, Queen of England, speak 23 languages and can fly singing the Canadian anthem backwards. Maybe it was a typo and he meant to say that 5% of their product actually works! Well, I would believe in THIS. My wife's first streak reset at a completely random time. He would even do it when she wore short-sleeved shirts and was on the wood or the tiles in our house. Hers often broke and burned, while mine actually (surprisingly) worked fine. I could use mine to pet our dog on the carpet below, which is where Oklahoma gets a quarter of its electricity, by the way. Seriously, this is a static city and no matter how hard I tried, I could NOT reset mine, even when I was electrocuted on my wrist by a dog. On the other hand, if you think about it even less than lovingly, my wife's group will be restarted. This made her angry, to say the least. We sent group #1 back for a replacement as it was clearly a hardware issue and not a static issue. Group #2 arrived today and after a quick charge my wife put them on only to throw them off after just 20 minutes. Two hours later, while watching TV, he did a random reset again. NO problem with static electricity. Surprisingly, my own band actually works pretty much as advertised, although the step tracking isn't the most accurate I've found. However, I think BOTH groups will come back for refunds at this point. A product launch hasn't been this fatal since the Merkur XR4ti. I suspect this product will go down in history as one of those complete failures that college students will use as examples. My old college marketing textbook took the Mercury as a model, but I suspect they're now working on a revised version that will give the XR a much-needed rest. Finally, it is very sad to see what such an amazing product could have become. Sucking is so incredibly hard. It was clearly NOT ready for prime time at launch (or even now), but was kind of pushed out the door by the temptation that many potential Christmas sales could bring. I've searched the internet for hours for solutions to the reset problem but have found nothing but many complaints from other dissatisfied customers. There seems to be so much hate for the company and its complete lack of support or product documentation that if they survive they will all have to run and buy lottery tickets. Heck, as one of the 5% with a real workgroup, I could do this myself tomorrow. Serious. Don't be tempted by the low entry prices. How much is your sanity worth? This product will test it. and then some. ;-)
