Bought a couple of machines two years ago. Against the background of the same type of devices from other manufacturers, the advantage of brothers is the price and non-chip consumables. As for the print quality, it is quite suitable for text. There were no problems. By resetting the counters - this is possible for both the toner cartridge and the drum unit. It works quite well - the main thing then is not to get confused yourself. For reliability, I will give our example. The drum unit, after a couple of resets, eventually refused to work at 32435 pages. These are almost three of his resources, declared by the manufacturer (12,000 pages). At the same time, the print quality has not deteriorated over all this time. The device has not yet been repaired. According to my feelings, the reliability is comparable to the old devices from hp. Under Linux, this printer starts up and works fine. Of the shortcomings - the device sometimes likes to fall asleep tightly - i. E. it is impossible to wake him up with either a computer or buttons, just pull out the power cord. Perhaps this is a firmware glitch, or drivers for Linux. In two years, I remember a dozen such cases. The second problem is the A5 format. Such sheets periodically chew, especially if the print template is double-sided. But in general, on 32435 printed pages, there were a total of 755 jammed sheets, 656 of which were marked as JAM INSIDE by the machine. Well, getting a jammed A5 sheet is sometimes difficult. But since our A5 format is manually cut A4 sheets, problems may be due to this. On the whole, this is an excellent and reliable device that requires a minimum of attention, and the native drum unit has a solid margin of safety.
