Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Blue Orange Games Animix: Fun and Engaging Strategy Card Game for 2 to 6 Players by Fernando Ramani

Revainrating 4 out of 5

An amazing game that is best played with a large number of players

I like a lot about Animix; this reminds me of some of our other favorite card games that we love. I told my wife before we started playing that she would remind her of one of our favorite games, Trash Pandas, as it has a similar hidden card keeping mechanic for your account. Of course we both made this big acquaintance that we like and enjoy and fell in love with Animix really fast. Getting that bit of hidden information from other players about what cards you're trying to rescue and recruit is exciting and fun. What we particularly love about it is the variety of all the different animals that can be incorporated into a player's deck as it's being built. That. We found that with 8 different beautifully colored animal cards, each with their own rating traits, we had loads of instant replayability and the fun of swapping out and creating new decks each time. Table. Players manipulate this grid and fix it in specific patterns by replacing cards in their hand with cards on the table. Another move you can make is to discard a card from your hand in front of you so you can earn points later. Whoever holds the most animals scores points based on how that card is played and pinned to the grid. A fairly simple game that certainly brings a lot of fun with numerous games. No matter how attractive the cards were and how well the packaging fitted into the box, it gradually lost its appeal to us. Not the fault of the game itself, but I honestly don't think it's suitable for a two-player game. Once you know all the animals and their scoring methods, you can easily predict what your opponent will do. At that point, it becomes more of a block-and-counter game, or just a direct attempt to corrupt the scoring system you know it's aimed at. I don't mind that as it was an interesting and unexpected twist in what I thought was a nice simple game. Given the chances of playing it again with more players, our interest is renewed and the fun factor increased a bit. Some of the same reading patterns of your opponents will appear with more players, but things are more unpredictable and following everyone's moves and feints as they play is a much more rewarding gaming experience. All in all a very great game, it absolutely has its place as a fun stuffing game on the shelf. Playing less often is fine at 2p, but I think it shines most at six players. This is a good price for what you get and I would recommend it. If you like set building, a bit of strategy, maybe some subtle bluffing, and a nice puzzle table to manipulate, check it out.
