Works well but has some quirks

First of all this unit now comes with a short (3") micro USB extension cable, I think this is due to all the comments about it not connecting can a phone. with case. It fits my note 5 in a thin case without an extension cord. Sometimes it took several times to connect, disconnect and reconnect for Android to recognize an external card, keyboard or mouse. I think it was one Android working and no problem with this adapter It seemed more likely that the card was recognized when an extension cable was used but that could only be coincidence Once android recognizes a specific external card or device it works every time when it reconnects afterwards. You may need to use a file explorer to find out where the external card is in of the file structure, and this probably depends on the Android version and the phone manufacturer. For anyone wondering if this adapter can charge a phone, I haven't tried it, but I googled it and found that the USB OTG standard doesn't normally allow you to charge your phone in OTG mode. The phone is the USB "master" and the master sends power but does not receive it. When your phone is connected to a computer or charger, it is not a host and can be powered to charge. I'm pretty sure this will be the case with any OTG adapter. In general, he did what he had to do.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
