the shell of these helmets is the same size. I ordered a small one and it was too big so I decided to keep it for the passenger. So I ordered an X small and the shell was the same diameter as the small only thicker padding. It looks weird because the bowl is so big. I suspect if you bought the large it would look like it would fit you because it didn't have as much padding. I didn't have the time or patients to return it and buy another helmet so I'm just living with it. I have the feeling that people look at me strangely when I'm sitting at a traffic light. I'm just having fun. I don't know if all helmets are made this way, it would be something to check before you buy. X small really fits. I still hope it makes sense
