Review on Petlinks 49900 Hanging Cat Scratchers by Connie Lewis

Best for kittens not adult cats

We have used about a dozen different cat claws on both of our cats so we can easily compare many of them. However, this was only lightweight so larger cats could use it effectively. I know this would be great for kittens and young cats, but our adult cats stopped using it almost immediately because it had no counterweight and their claws got stuck in it when the tower fell on them. I went ahead and bought a competitor's model which had a wider and heavier base than this and was better suited to our cats. It wasn't a total waste of time, but now we keep them off the beaten track indoors because we have a 15 pound weight on their backs so they can hold onto it from one side and it doesn't fall on them. I have to turn it over every month to make sure it's scratched evenly, but it's not quite what I was hoping for when I bought them. As they were scratched I didn't find it worth returning so for me it was almost a loss. Overall quality, while I can't really complain, it just wasn't good for our cats and I don't recall the seller mentioning any disclaimers regarding this. I would only buy if you have small cats maybe around 18 months old or younger.

  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Not the best
