Ideal for doorposts

My cat follows me from room to room and likes to scratch doorposts while she waits. She's peeling off the paint. I have found that when I add trim to the door frame it benefits and looks better than the wrought iron frame. She won't use it if I just hang it on the door. I cut the rope and nailed it to the frame.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Tarzan Kitty is suitable for scratching posts

Our cat loves this and it's a great way to give her more vertical surfaces for her scratching post. It is flexible and has no structure. I personally think it's good. I used to hang up a harder scratching post and there was a knock on the door. She just sways like Tarzan and dangles when the feather attacks. So far, unlike some of their other toys, the spring is intact. It would be nice if it was a little longer but overall very nice.

Now the door won't close

My only real gripe with this item is that it's impossible to close the door when it's on the knob. which kind misses the purpose why we bought it. Our cat will scrape the shit out of our door every night if we lock it in our bedroom. If we let him into our bedroom, he'll jump in his sleep and knock everything over. I'm attaching a photo of the perpetrator. I sincerely wish for that scratch as I smack our cat Jefferson on the head every time he tries to scratch something. It would be helpful.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Ok for the most part, but...

Light & Tipsy fits on scratching post

I bought a cone scratching post and I regret that I wasn't more thorough in my review. It is hollow and outside of the light. I immediately liked the shape and thought it would be an interesting addition for a new cat. I was right about that, although I can't imagine her coming close again. As soon as he got out of the box, it hit and they both fell. Shape and size were as expected. We need to find a way to mount and weigh it down so it can be used. It also wobbles when lying down without being

Excellent value for money and quality; the kitten likes it;

Out of the box brand new (it took about 12 seconds to attach the stand to the base with the screw provided) the kitty pounced on it and happily scratched - more importantly since I posted the post, did I didn't find her on the couch, in the armchair, or on the carpet, her usual tricks. Very happy cat, very happy human. a bit small and not that heavy, and the pole tipped over a few times when the kitty squeezed it tight. I feel like I may need to bolt it on or tie it down with straps or put some

My cat likes it---on the floor

My cat ignored it when it was hanging on the doorknob. However, when I put it on the bottom, it turns out to be a completely different kettle of fish. She likes him: not only scratches, but rides, sleeps, sits on him. I think she just likes the texture. Another reviewer recommended putting some weight in the back pocket. This is absolutely necessary if you're putting it on the floor, otherwise not only will it not work, but it's likely to hit your cat in the face if she's able to scratch it…

Durable, great quality!

First of all, the price is only $6. For this level of durability, the quality is better than most I've seen. The edges are sewn, it stays together. It doesn't look cheap. How "weak" is he? There is a pocket on the back that runs the full length of the scratch block. This allows you to fill the pouch with catnip, which was also included! And allows you to put something inside to make it heavier. I don't think it's weak just judging by the reviews below. You can even take the box out of the box…

Nicer than most but lightweight base

This scratching post looks better than many as the base is neutral fabric and the rope is light colored instead of brown. Fits well in our bedroom and blends in really well - you hardly notice it. I didn't originally plan on using the scratching post by the bed, but the cat started to take an interest in the padding at the foot of the bed, and by "interested" I mean wanting to poke holes in it and attack it. Now she uses this scratching post. I was only playing with the little dongle the first…

Best for kittens not adult cats

We have used about a dozen different cat claws on both of our cats so we can easily compare many of them. However, this was only lightweight so larger cats could use it effectively. I know this would be great for kittens and young cats, but our adult cats stopped using it almost immediately because it had no counterweight and their claws got stuck in it when the tower fell on them. I went ahead and bought a competitor's model which had a wider and heavier base than this and was better suited to

Pros

Cons
  • Not the best
