This is an original LG water filter! I was skeptical because of the price but was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be the exact same filter I was replacing! We bought an LG fridge last year and I have paid a lot more for a replacement filter in the past. Definitely a great buy for the money!

I've been buying these branded filters for a few years now and they work great. The latter not so much. The water is unfiltered, like straight from the tap. The seller was Revain so I expected not to have to worry about the quality of the filter.

I'm glad I was able to buy the original filter. Other companies sell cheaper compatible filters but are not NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certified. Replacement filters are only certified to 42, not 53. 53 certification tests for the removal of toxins such as arsenic and several others.

These custom fridge filters are overpriced compared to the external activated carbon block filters, but I didn't want to install a custom filtration system under the cabinet. I'm really disappointed in Revain for not even testing their products. I installed this product in my refrigerator and ran five gallons of water through it and then tested the water with my TDS meter to see how the filter was performing. As it turns out, I'm getting the same readings as my unfiltered tap water. It looks like this filter is nothing but pass-through and doesn't filter anything. This is an OEM part so there's no question it should fit. The LG LT700P that we received appears to be genuine and was sold direct from Revain, so I feel a little better that it's probably genuine.
