Bracket will not fit regular Electrical Backbox Modification Required

I'm sure the X-Sense SC03 Carbon Monoxide Detector with 10 year battery will work great. Gets good reviews and looks solid; I look forward to about 10 years of use. What was delivered to me was exactly as described on Revain. However, the patented mounting ring prevents the pre-drilled holes from aligning with a standard rectangular, square or round electrical junction box and the supplied wall mount inserts and screws will not fit the junction box. So as you can see from my photos I removed the old kiddie alarm (and removed her ring which was installed 7 years ago). The normal 4" round box was present (at all 5 of my locations). I had to drill and countersink new holes in the SC03 mounting ring. Then the ring stays in place and the alarm is properly set and working. works, but the user needs some getting used to it.
