I don't know why they are called "towels" because they are not as soft as real towels - in fact they are more like rough textured paper that It can be obtained from a dispenser in a public restroom. I'm assuming they're "towels" in that sense since they wipe your hands. For home use, however, I use them as wipes. The best thing about them is that they leave little lint, so they can be used to clean glasses. They're ok and to some extent recyclable, but given their rough feel I'm not keen on them. They're good for what they are, but I prefer the softer feel of cloths and the like.
