Review on TREBLAB XR700 Wireless Sports Earbuds with Custom Earhooks: Perfect for Athletes by Gabriel Day

Quality and Reliability

I bought these to replace a Treblab XR500 set that finally failed after 2 years of daily use at work. I'm a mechanic by trade and was impressed with the XR500's performance in rough conditions. It was easy to return to Treblab for the next set. I saw the XR700's improved Bluetooth and battery life and made my choice. They came in a nice case with various earplugs and a bricked charging cable was not included. Pairing is easy and quick, and I listened to music for 2 minutes after opening the box. I've been using them for about 3 weeks now and feel I can give a good review. First, the earhooks are wired and can be molded compared to the XR500's flexible rubber. I actually like the elastic because I take it off several times a day to talk to clients. That being said, after a few tweaks I was able to put the wire in a comfortable position for all-day use. It feels very durable and the rubber is comfortable. The Bluetooth 5 technology was not convincing. I was expecting more range, but my experience was actually less than the XR500. Still over 30 feet so it's quite normal. I work next to vehicles in a metal building and the old headphones seemed to go about 70 feet before clipping. XR700s start cutting at about 40 feet, especially in shop conditions. It wasn't a problem, I was just hoping to leave my phone on the table while I moved. Sound quality is a big improvement I've noticed with the XR700s. Podcasts and music are clear and precise. I don't hear heavy bass, but regular listening never produces distorted tones. I have found that I can play music much quieter with the foam tips and still hear a wide range of music. They can get loud enough to hurt your ears, so be careful of your hearing. I use them to call people regularly and have heard from friends that they are clearer than my old ones too. The buttons and body are almost the same as the XR500. The only notable difference is that the main side button on the XR700 is slightly concave compared to the raised button on the XR500. This is one of my only complaints. I'm wearing nitrile gloves and I can't feel the smallest button plate and end up just pinching the side with my finger to hit it. Without gloves, it's still a little hard to feel. The battery life of the new XR700s is amazing. With my old XR500 set I would have had to charge them at lunch to get through a full day. The XR700s work great all day and I've never turned them off before the end of the day. It's a full day of podcasts, music and numerous calls. It's worth the upgrade for that alone. If I need a different pair of headphones next year, I'll have trouble deciding between the XR500 and XR700. Both are well built and work well. The XR700's loss of range is made up for by the sound quality and amazing battery life. Currently there is no price difference between them. I am happy with the choice of Treblab and would recommend them to anyone.
