Attention - possible connection problems

Now that I have it connected I have no problems with the phone and I like its features. The difficulty was getting it to work with three of my lines, specifically lines 1 and 2. A phone jack MUST be used to connect both lines, so a two-line wall outlet and a 4-wire phone cord is required (cable included) . However, if you have two separate phone jacks for lines 1 and 2, you need a solution to connect them with the same four-wire cable. The instructions advise you to use a phone adapter, an inexpensive device that does NOT come with your phone. However, in my situation, I have a Verizon FIOS digital voice service. The network interface device has two separate jacks for lines 1 and 2. AT&T's instructions for connecting these lines to a 4-wire phone cord WILL NOT WORK because Verizon connects both jacks the same way with red and green wires. This is of course not an AT&T issue, and I was able to work around this issue by plugging both Verizon jacks into the same jack, as an AT&T 1/2 phone jack would expect. However, if I knew that this task would take me half a day, I would NOT buy this phone. I like the phone but I would have to spend a lot of money for someone to connect my phone. Luckily I have experience with telephone wiring. Better guidance, AT&T! Identify what the customer may need and improve troubleshooting to solve problems! Even better, provide separate connectors for each line!
