I bought this to use my Nintendo Switch on my old PC monitor that doesn't have an HDMI input. The video output quality is good, with no unexpected video quality degradation. It's important to note that component video is actually an older technology and is noticeably not as sharp and lacks the dynamic range of brightness and contrast that an HDMI connection offers. The sound quality is excellent, with no noticeable loss of quality, and is in sync with the video. At the time of writing this review, this product retails for around $20 which is good value for money and certainly won't pay more than that amount for what it is.
