advantages:1. It's very accessible. but it means pretty much what you think it means. 2. It's beautiful, much bluer than I expected but still very beautiful3. The box the set came in had enough packaging that Revain didn't need to be added for shipping. The bowl feels nice and heavy, although it seems to retain more heat than water. After pouring hot water and stirring the tea, it was cool enough to drink, but I had to wrap it in a paper towel to avoid burning my hands. The bowl stayed hot much longer than the tea. I don't think I would try to microwave it. Disadvantages: 1. Wrong origin. I ignored my question about where it was made and tried to find information on the internet. The description mentions that he has owned a tea shop in North Carolina for 10 years. I thought I'd try and find the Veristic Accents Tea Room in North Carolina but all I found was this tea set, overpriced on Etsy. The store listed the owner and mentioned that it was assembled by Centurion Direct in Henderson, West Virginia. Centurian Direct is also the name of the store that sells this set on Revain. I searched Centurion Direct and found a mostly dead website, but the company information is online for free. It is a limited liability company that was incorporated 9 months ago. Foreign profit means it was registered in West Virginia from somewhere outside of West Virginia. North Carolina? China? I don't say. However, the Etsy shop owner was listed as a member of the board of directors. She was also a manager/agent for a wig shop called Veristic Hair Arts, LLC. In Henderson, West Virginia. Which shares a mailbox with Centurion Direct. Eventually, she was listed as an agent for McDuff's Tea Room in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The Facebook page has not been updated for 10 years. The latest online reviews are from 2013. For 10 years there have been 2 reviews on Facebook and 2 on Yelp. I don't know what it all means, but this tea set was made in China.2. The matcha box's airtight seal consists of some type of foil wrapped around double-sided foam tape. It looked pretty cheap so I figured it was packaging so the lid wouldn't scratch the base in transit and then I ripped it open before realizing it wasn't meant to come off. Oops.3. I've never held a bamboo spoon in my hands, but it looks like a disposable chopstick, but maybe that's how it's supposed to be?
