Solder connection. They were very easy to use to fix this. She had another necklace with a broken clasp which I also fixed. It has a very large assortment of different jump rings and clasps. They are closed so you have to open them yourself. I just used two small pliers to pry them apart. Go sideways so they don't lose their shape and tension.
