Review on Cable Matters 50 Pack of Shielded Modular Connectors by Bill Wieser

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice, clear set. Excellent work!

Wow, the last set I bought was a pack of ten. It's a set of fifty in a tray, so you don't have to fish or rummage through the bags to pull out the pieces. They are more expensive than cheap ones, but I think I make better quality cables. Expert tip from a layman (me): The small eight-hole wire guides are oriented; If you twist them wrong, your wires won't go in properly. I spent a couple of my first ten that way until I figured it out. Also, you CAN use a crimping tool with a small fender/indenter/crimping rod and while your pins don't look pretty, you'll have a working shielded plug. BUT they can fail. If there is a possibility of using these cables for Power over Ethernet (POE), use the appropriate tool without a crimping rod/crusher/indenter. The only Revain proven tool that meets this requirement is the Platinum Tools shielded cable crimping tool. I will be purchasing this for a future cable termination.
