Pro palette versus liquid face and body paint, lighting, photos and more. - UV GUIDE TO FUN!

Update 04/27/2020. We originally posted this as an update to our Blue Squid face and body paint, but we've included it here as it also belongs to this professional palette. We added two 100W UV LED bulbs (Look for Onforu 2 Pack 100W UV LED Black Light) to our roughly 14 square foot room (that's 196 square feet). If you want REALLY impressive results (we currently have TWO 27w bulbs and TWO 100w bulbs in this room) we think 400w would be perfect. In hindsight, we'd rather start with 100W bulbs, but remember they REALLY give off a lot of heat from the back - be careful or install them where strangers can't touch the backs of the bulbs (27w bulbs don't get hot). have this problem). We consulted with a friend who is an expert in special effects makeup. The FASTEST way to apply color is using the Blue Squid PRO - 6 x 10g Neon Color Palette and a makeup sponge. However, we did one thing that our expert didn't think of. Instead of WATER we used BellaJade, a make-up fixing spray with organic green tea, MSM and DMAE. This gave us the consistency of water, however. Makeup stayed in place and barely faded. Healthy. On the advice of our special effects makeup friend, we bought an airbrush. Of course it works, and it works with BellaJade, but you know what you need: an airbrush without a frisket makes a soft line and takes time. It is also difficult to mix the LIQUID blue squid for airbrushing to the right consistency so that it sticks and doesn't spread like water. And then you can score an airbrush. We imagine that we could use an airbrush for drawings with lots of soft lines. The sponge can cover large areas fairly quickly. We used BLUE masking tape on her skin. Aha! Sounds crazy and we would ONLY choose a 3M product that uses superior adhesives to make it easy to peel off. Just be careful when slowly removing the tape. With a sponge it turned out that it was a damn near-perfect edge. Then dry it with a hair dryer. All this work you have to do under UV light to keep an eye on the intensity. After the paint has dried it is difficult to go over it again without loosening it with BellaJade. It seemed difficult trying to apply another coat as you might paint the wall so be aware. Again, the quickest (and safest and easiest to remove, even with a fixative) method we've found is with the Blue Squid Pro Palette. While this review is for Blue Squid, we must once again point out an alternative. Signature neon sharpie pens. So. they work really well though. Yes, they are almost permanent, not intended for the skin, have a bad taste and require Bioderma brand makeup remover or other product and time to remove. The result is good, but the price may be a little high for your body. However, one of us loves to draw with these markers on the back of our hands. We have also found a solution for photography. The bottom line is: DO NOT trust your camera's exposure meter. If you're using a Pixel 3a XL like we are, tap the screen, reduce exposure and lock it. If you have a Canon DSLR, don't trust your light meter. With a total UV output of 252W, we found ISO 1600, shutter speed 1/125 and aperture 5.0 to get the job done (photographers will know how to use this data point to start with). Again, we would like MORE light to reduce ISO film noise. but we finally have a budget. Yes, a tripod would help for slower shutter speeds and lower ISOs. The 108 watts mentioned in our original test report are therefore not enough. 252 W?. Meh, we would like more light! Draw your own conclusions. BUT MAKE ALL WALLS AND SURFACES BLACK because we thought it would greatly reduce the pink/purple feedback in the images. We hope this will seriously help those trying to get it right. Again, our only request to Blue Squid would be to sell individual pancake makeup products for about TRIPLE more than a set. PLEASE? we tend stick to one or two colors with our designs and prefer to buy only one size larger (3x) than the one included. We think it takes about 4-5 pancakes to fully cover the body. And the last remark. Blacklight/UV sensitive makeup is not the same as glow in the dark. Blacklight makeup has a permanent glow under UV light/blacklight, but glow-in-the-dark things start out with a strong glow effect. and their intensity of glow diminishes with time, like the transparent sticks one breaks. Blacklight/UV makeup requires a black UV light source to fluoresce/glow. Glow in the dark products will not fade over time. Blacklight/UV makeup requires a black UV light source to fluoresce/glow.
