The purchase changed my life. I work nights and the nearest light switch is at the opposite end of the room from the front door. So I bought a cheap timer switch from the local hardware store so the lights would turn themselves on before I got home. It worked but was quite weak and after a week it started ticking loudly and the timer stopped. This brand is about the same price, solidly built, and gives you the ability to connect 2 devices. Because it's a manual timer, it's very easy to set up and won't add to your electric bills. There are many ways to use them, but I only use them to light up my living room. It's a relief to come home and not stumble in the dark and bump into furniture in search of a floor lamp switch. And I never have to worry about accidentally leaving the light on because I've programmed it to turn off around the time I go to bed. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to make their everyday life a little easier. I've been using it for several months with no problems and it's definitely worth the $10 price tag.
