ALMOST great - if only it didn't eject hard drives when using more than one.

I've had this for a long time and am using it with the new 2018 i9 MacBook Pro. I looked at many USB-C dongles and settled on this one after watching a comparison video that said it had the best heat distribution. It's nicely designed, has plenty of ports, and is quite compact. But that's all for professionals. There is a serious problem with this key when working with more than one device (SD card, hard drive, etc.). If you have one device connected and a second device connected, the first device will be forcibly ejected; sometimes both devices are thrown away. It doesn't matter what you do. Copying files? I am sorry. I popped my 2TB USB-C SSD into this dongle's USB-C port (which is labeled for data, not power - there are 2 USB-C ports) and the drive ejected immediately and now it will not reconnect. I've run data recovery software, tried different cables, adapters, and connectors, but it doesn't show up in Disk Utility. It's just over. After possibly ruining my SSD with this key, I got a replacement from Amazon. I thought I must have a fool. 2nd arrived. I plugged in a Sony XQD USB 3 card reader and then a USB 3 bus powered hard drive. Everything works fine. File transfer started. I then plugged a micro SD card into the dongle; everything was thrown away. I couldn't get USB Drive 3 to show up and it started clicking. nope! All disconnected, trying to connect to the laptop with a simple USB 3-C adapter with a hard drive. It appeared. They gave him first aid and everything is fine, but the fact is that there are serious problems with this key. Not sure if it's hardware or software or even Mac OS but it's NOT SECURE for your data and possibly the devices themselves. I'm currently still trying to figure out how to salvage my SSD which may be now is completely lost. Do yourself a favor and check out one of the other options.
