I had a problem with my older cat who had scabs at the base of his tail but no signs of fleas were visible with daily brushing. Studies have shown that there can be dryness and lack of oil in the diet. So I ordered pure Norwegian salmon oil for dogs and cats. The enthusiasm of all three of my pets was amazing, but the eldest cat, Olivia, was REALLY urging me to give her extra servings of her salmon oil kibble. After just a day, her coat seems to have regained a more youthful shine and softness, and the rough area near her tail seems to be improving somewhat. For cats and dogs weighing less than 50 pounds, the label recommends twice a day. The content is just salmon oil which contains omega 3 and omega 6 and tocopherol which I believe is a form of vitamin EA. Additional note: the bottle arrived in a mail bag and made its way out of the original packaging. The cap was intact and the pump was a little tricky to pull on, it looks like the pump wants to go crooked rather than straight onto the threaded metal hole at the top. With perseverance I was able to align the pump with the threads and mount the pump straight and work.
