These coasters had exactly the look I was looking for but were actually disappointing to use. The pads on the bottom aren't evenly spaced, so they wobble a bit when you put a drink on them. The slate itself is thinner than it looked in the pictures. But the rings are the worst! Any drink, including water, leaves a clearly visible mark on the board within a few minutes. I now understand that coasters need to be wiped down from time to time, but I don't think it should be literally between each use. They should be attractive, and stained coasters are not attractive. This may be an inherent problem with slate material, but if you're going to sell it for this purpose you'll need to find a way to seal it to make it more durable. The only bonus I'll give them is that the slate hasn't broken since I received it, which I really expected because it was, well, slate. But if the material and not the manufacturer is to blame for the rings, then the durability of this product is also to blame. So crazy!
