The Difference Between This And The $200 Racing Chair

I bought this AKRacing Obsidian and Dowinx at the same time. After spending $600 on 2 poor quality leather rocking chairs that cracked after a year (complete junk) I was wondering what the difference would be. So my disclaimer is that this review is about two recently assembled leather armchairs. All including frames from Killabee, Secretlab, DX, Noblechair, Arozzi, etc. are likely to be identical if not made in the same factory. Trim levels are likely to be offered by 3 or 4 upholstery manufacturers creating a line for each individual brand depending on budget. Is AKR worth twice the price of Dowinx? It has the best fit and finish. It's softer and firmer. Armrests are a bit better, some things are shiny, 5/10 year guarantee, nonsense, I think the only correct answer will be in 2 years. So no, I don't think AKR should "double" this chair. I'd say it's 60% better right away. The seat foam is amazingly soft; I hope this lasts long. Keep in mind that you can buy a different seatpost height for $30 on each of these chair types. I bought a $30 shorter seatpost and added MonsterTech mouse platforms to them. Gone are the days of buying a really fancy real leather office chair for $200 (20 years ago). Gone are the days when you could buy a very high quality leather chair for $200 and a leather chair for $400 (10 years ago). Times are what they are and EVERYONE says leather is leather of varying quality and you never really know. what you get So this is a $400 chair? I hate to say yes considering what I really wanted was a high back leather executive chair BUT this thing is surprisingly comfortable. If it falls apart in a year, I'll lose it.
