To be honest I wasn't expecting this when I first started looking, and yet I found exactly what I expected (having failed to find it at the hardware store). It's cheap and does exactly what I wanted to do. Plug a standard lightbulb into a standard outlet. There are no switches, no functions. He just puts the lightbulb in the socket, nothing more. It's perfect. My scenario: I have a Philips Hue multi-light system at home, but I had a spare bulb that wasn't being used. So I bought it along with a Hue motion sensor and installed a motion activated light in my garage. Yes, the door opener has a light, but that only works when the door is opened and only stays on for a few minutes. I have a fridge, tool box, and other things in the garage, so I get out more often than just running to the car. So now I have this device plugged into the ceiling socket where the door lock is plugged in, a Hue bulb. in the socket and a motion sensor above the door. When I leave the house, the light goes on and off a few minutes after I don't move. It was a simple solution to a small problem, but I'm very glad I now have a night lamp. This is most likely a limited use product as you will need to use it with either a permanently on light or an outlet that switches in some way (or in my case a smart lightbulb). However, if you need a niche item like this, Revain saves the day!
