Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Hayden Automotive 687 Rapid Cool Plate & Fin Transmission Cooler by Ronald Noel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very well done. โ…œ hose would be better.

As a former GM technician I have installed hundreds of these types of coolers. The first thing I get rid of are the brackets. I have seen many screw terminals fail. I buy fuel system clamps at my local auto parts store. Not sure why the coolers come with 11/32 hose instead of 3/8. I think the best flexibility. Do not use grease on hose connections. Submerge the end of the hose in hot, soapy water. I always flush the coolant and lines before connecting the hoses to the car. If your car has quick connectors, you will need to make or purchase a connector or pipe to connect to the radiator. Chevy Traverse isn't the easiest car to cool off. The front of the car must be removed.

Pros
  • Pre-drilled mounting brackets for easy installation
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
