I bought another SI belt to compare. This product (Altapolo) is more comfortable to wear but covers a larger area. I only wore it for a day/two so I can't comment on the pain relief factor. I felt supported while I was there. I have problems with the sacroiliac joint and hip. I have no problems with the lumbar spine. Another chiropractor-designed lumbar belt (Serola, made in the USA) sits lower and is specifically designed for the lumbosacral joint. I decided to leave Serola. My chiro warned me about addiction because ultimately I want my muscles to get stronger through physical therapy/exercise rather than relying on a belt all the time. According to inventor Serola, the narrower, more targeted sacroiliac joint belt does not create addiction (unlike the wider belt). The other reason I returned the Altapolo is that several people mentioned the velcro. The velcro area is small and not high quality. Even though Altapolo is cheaper than Serola, addiction issues aside, I don't want anything to fall apart that quickly. I also mentioned that Serola is made in the US and I want to do my part to support US products. This is my honest review not sponsored by any company.
