Bought these shoes earlier in the week and they were delivered yesterday afternoon. Was looking for a more casual shoe with straps for work; to keep his pair at Macy's for official occasions. I like her overall style. and while they fit and looked good as expected, there were some issues. The leather on the toe and upper of the shoe looks more like thick painted cardboard than leather. Although the suede parts are good. Worst of all, yes, the smell. not just the smell of gasoline, but combined with the smell of rubber. To me it smells exactly like the hard black rubber wheels sold at discount hardware stores, like those on carts or hand trucks used to move furniture. Not only a characteristic smell, but also a strong one. I tried the shoes on once and although they fit well, the smell lingers on my hands and socks after I take them off. It took some time to rub with strong soap. Other reviewers have said to wait a while for the smell to wear off (a few days to a few WEEKS. Really?). I won't wait that long, I'll get her back; not something I do often on Revain. (Not the seller's fault, the shoes are just a poor quality product.)
