Back Seat Car Access

We received this ramp to help our elderly 70 pound dog Duke who had both CCL legs surgically reconstructed. We use it to access our storage box in the back seat of a Honda Accord. Very few ramps or ladders are suitable for the back seat, because the car door does not open very far, the distance between the ramp and the car seat is too large, and there is no support at the top of the ramp where there is only part of the ramp. on a car seat. Those of you who have tried this know what I mean. To solve this, you'll need a fairly short ramp (but not too steep for an older dog) like this one, AND you'll need something to reinforce the top of the ramp since a car seat won't do the trick due to the angle of the ramp. facing the seat. So we cut a 1" x 2" piece to support the top corner of the ramp hanging from the car seat. This wooden leg rests on the floor of the car and the other end fits neatly into one of the built in slots on the back of the ramp! I don't have the exact measurements we are cutting right now but I will update the photo and measurements next week. You can easily order them from Lowe's or Home Depot. We're still standing to make sure the ramp is strong until it gets into the crate, but it certainly saved Duke and I.
