I bought this set specifically looking for something smaller. My DD used our salad forks - she learned to use the fork this way but started snatching it out of our hands when we held it out and I was beginning to worry she would yank it and then punch herself in the eye . First parental concern? Maybe. But we still took a set of it. I liked it so much I bought her a second set! The size fits her hands perfectly even though we have a very large (99%) 15 month old. She's been using them for a few months now and I plan to give her a larger set when she outgrows them. She loves them because, unlike plastic utensils, they can pierce food. Warning: These are VERY easily thrown down the garbage chute. My husband has made this twice (luckily with the same fork both times) so one of us went pale. Although it bothers me, it doesn't affect the function in any way.
