Review on ๐Ÿ•ณ๏ธ Plumb Pak PP855-69 Air Gap: Grey, Fits 1-1/2" and 2" Metal or Plastic Standpipes by Nick Palacio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works best in laundries and communal sinks

I use two of these side by side in a 1.5 inch -PVC riser. No instructions are provided as it seems obvious how to use it, but I've read other reviews complaining about leaks, splashing water down the side, or any thoughts that skyrocket the first time you use it. To prevent these problems, I recommend the following: 1. Tape off the pipe to be inserted if it is not tight on its own. This ensures your pipe drains straight down and also protects the top end from leaks. With the pipe inserted, secure it to the plumb line with a few wraps of tape (in my case I wrapped enough to cover the entire vertical segment of pipe from the plumb line and continued about 1 inch along the inserted pipe. That's 3. Drill and cut a #6 hole through the upper tube in a "plumb pak" and secure with a #6 nylon or stainless steel screw. Stainless steel will do, but don't use other types or they will rust. This keeps everything from flying out of the riser. We've been using ours for four months now. When water enters from the top it creates a perfect jet that is visible through the hole but flows straight down - no splashing.

Cons
