Review on Camera Tripod Degree 70Inch Camcoder by Paul Williams

Good idea, horrible design

This tripod was a terrible disappointment, and that was due to just one design flaw. The tripod itself makes a solid and durable impression. It opens very easily and is fixed/tightened fairly well. The fluid head is also very smooth and well designed. I initially saw the leveling pan head as a great feature. When I received the tripod, it turned out that the pan head attachment point was uneven. I was trying to adjust it carefully when the threads holding it together snapped and the head fell off the tripod. The head rests entirely on three extremely thin threads (and I mean only three threads) cut into aluminum components to hold it on the tripod. It looks like it was cross-threaded during assembly, ruining the threads and therefore the tripod. It is impossible to fix this. I sent it back the same day I received it. If it weren't for that, I would have given an excellent review. I highly recommend finding another Coman tripod without a leveling head. That's all I liked about it without one catastrophic failure.
