The tape on the scissors box was torn so I knew the contents were compromised. To my disappointment, one of the scissors was not activated by the spring. I had the correct order of opening a broken pair of scissors to find the spring had been misplaced in the case and secured like new. The scissors are very sharp and precise when tightening the connecting screw. As these are very heavy shears made from strong steel I don't see how they can break with a few sharpening and last a lifetime. They are exactly what I was looking for to help with multiple thread cuts in one go and were small enough to require both hands to maneuver the material without lowering the scissors. A must have for any sewing project. And the second pair is better to have at hand in the closet.
