I bought two of these cables so the HDMI cables wouldn't stick right out of the back of my TV. Using a right angle adapter allows me to bring the cable closer to the surface of the TV and reduce the chance of breaking it. Make sure you purchase the correct adapter for your application. Because you can only insert it one way, the female end will always face a specific direction. You may need a different one that is essentially "inverted". For example this one: HDMI port screen saver (male to female) - 270 degrees. The connector is strong and tight, and I don't see any change in picture quality. I would buy it again without any problems. Note: As of July 2012, the current image of this article is correct. This is a small, very compact adapter. Images of some other adapters were inaccurate: Customers receive an adapter that is much larger (or does not match the advertised angle setting) than the one pictured.
